The
facility is situated in midtown Manhattan in the Gramercy Park District.
There are 22 sleeping spaces available for guests.
The loft is
for Appalachian students, faculty, and staff attending conferences, academic
meetings, fulfilling internship requirements or conducting research in
the New York area. The facility is also available for non-Appalachian
individuals pursuing scholarly activities.

Loft has a resident director to assist you with questions.

Community
Living Environment
The Appalachian
Loft is a Community Living Environment. We rent beds, not rooms. In most
instances you will be sharing a room with other people. In fewer instances
you may be sharing a room with someone of the opposite gender. All final
sleeping arrangements are made by the Resident Director upon your arrival
in New York. Loft keys can be picked up from the Resident Director after
you have checked in. There is a $20 refundable cash deposit for each
set of keys.
Each bunk
room has a bathroom that must be shared by all guests in that room. The
private room has it's own bathroom. As well, t he Loft has a small kitchenette
available to all guests for preparing quick meals.
